Sue and I had been chatting for a while – trying to determine a suitable time and location for a family shoot. The family hadn’t had portraits in a while and Sue was sure that she wanted a fall session. Well, obviously, I did meet the whole family and I had a great time! Sometimes I get a little nervous when meeting people for the first time, but with these guys it was like I had known them my full life!! Really, Dave was a little bite of a jokester and the boys were very much like dad. Sue was sweet and so easy to talk to. We chatted and carried on the whole while. To top off what i thought was a great session we had TWO very cool animal encounters (a deer and an OWL which i’ll explain in more detail below). So much love in this family with a big side of FUN!
Sue wanted Ben and Josh to recreate a photo she had of them as little boys walking down a path, needless to say it’s hard to get teenage boys to be serious!
Boys will be boys and the competition was ON
I love this one
So… the Owl and Deer story…. We had found this location and i asked that the family move into the trees for a picture (a little off the pathway), we ended up frightening an OWL who was sleeping in the tree. I felt like the Owl was HUGE when it flew over us and, me being me, I was a little out of myself with excitement. While refocusing we were startled again by a DEER that was running quite fast – like it was having a game of chase, leaping, dashing by us and back again. Earlier i mentioned that Dave was a little bite of a jokester… there had been signs up all over the park for Bear warning as one had been sited in the area. He had me believing that the animals were fleeing from “the bear” when i showed my concerned face i quickly realized that he was pulling my leg! haha
I give Dave FULL credit for this poseso much fun!
